The formula is engineered for commercial and prosumer zero-turn, stand-on and riding mowers operating under continuous, severe-service heat, where conventional motor oils thin out and lose responsiveness.
High-zinc anti-wear protection for hydrostatic drives
In many zero-turn mowers, internal oil pressure drives the wheel motors. Once tolerances inside those motors widen from wear, pressure drops, ground speed falls and the machine loses responsiveness. Works great. It gets very hot here. Have a 54 inch deck. Run machine pretty well long hours.

Great For Use In Exmark Walkbehinds
Have used Amsoil 20w50 in Exmark Walk behind Hydro's since Mobil 1 removed zinc. The Amsoil has one of the highest zinc contents available in a 20w50, which is why we chose it. Have 10 units over 4,000 hours on original hydro's and 2 over 5,000 hours on original hydro's. Maintenance and Quality of oil have to be the reason.

What fluid does a zero-turn or riding mower hydrostatic transmission need?
It depends on the machine.
